Let’s complete the picture of our experience by talking about the webcam and audio system, used to participate in some online meetings: they do their duty without any particular problems, but nothing more. Here we leave you a small comparison table of the results obtained in the Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark at different resolutions. We also carried out some tests at a native resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, where, as expected, the performance drops slightly. Overall the performance is good, apart from some uncertainty in Doom Eternal where the percentile is well below the average framerate. In Full HD instead there are no particular problems, while in tests with ray tracing, we note that you can play well even in Quad HD thanks to the use of DLSS 3. Below we leave you the graphs of our tests, performed both in raster and with ray tracing and DLSS (in balanced mode) at 1440p and 1080p resolution.Īs you can see, at maximum graphic quality the laptop struggles a bit in Quad HD with the heaviest games, such as Cyberpunk 2077 where it stops well below 60 FPS. In games the RTX 4060 performs well, especially in Full HD, but we expected that. Our sample had an American layout, but obviously the version with an Italian keyboard will be marketed in our country. That of the notebook, obviously a membrane, does not have exceptional feedback and tends to tire the fingers quite quickly. Given the nature of the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16, in our test we mainly focused on gaming, using it only sporadically in the workplace there keyboard (complete with numeric keypad) and the touchpads they are overall good and do not present particular criticalities, but if you find yourself typing for many hours, we recommend using an external keyboard more fit for purpose. The endowment is decidedly complete: we find two USB 3.2 type A To the right, another USB 3.2 type A, Ethernet Intel Killer E2600, 3.5mm jack and MicroSD reader left and power connector, HDMI 2.1 output and dual USB-C Thunderbolt 4 on the back. The screen has a diagonal of 16 inches, IPS panel with 2560×1600 pixel resolution, 165Hz frequency and 16:10 aspect ratio it has fairly thin bezels, except (as always) for the bottom one. To complete the technical sheet we find then 16GB of DDR5-4800 RAMexpandable thanks to the total 4 SO-DIMM slots (2 are occupied), a 512GB NVMe SSD and an Intel Killer AX1650i network card, with support for WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The solution adopted by Acer is effective in gaming, where performance does not drop even after hours of use. Processor and video card are kept at bay by a new one cooling system, which takes advantage of the liquid metal and fifth generation AeroBlade 3D fans (totally in metal and with 89 blades) to always ensure high performance. Also present Advanced Optimus, which completely disables the discrete GPU when not in use, so as to save energy (and increase autonomy if the PC is running on battery power). The graphic sector is entrusted to a RTX 4060 140-watt laptop with 8GB of GDDR6 memoryequipped with all the latest technologies that accompany the new NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture, such as the DLSS 3. The PBP is 55 watts, but the CPU can draw up to 157 watts (MTP) if needed, if only for a short time. On board the Predator Helios Neo 16 we find a Intel Core i7-13700HX processor new generation, equipped with 16 cores (8P + 8E) and 24 threads total, with 30MB of cache and an operating frequency that reaches up to 5GHz on the Performance Cores. The plastic is of good quality, however holds the fingerprints a lotespecially on the lid.ĭimensions and weight are average for the category: let’s talk about 360.1 x 279.9mmwith one about 27mm thick and a total weight of 2.8kg, to which must be added the power supply, essential when on the move. The shell, in plastic, on our specimen it has a bluish color, which is very reminiscent of the “Midnight” of the new MacBooks in our country the black variant is available. The air vents on the back are highlighted in a blue colour, a touch that does not clash with the general aesthetics of the laptop, which follows the typical lines of “gaming” systems. The new Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 has a fairly classic and uniform look, with only a few graphics on the lid in the center of which the Predator logo stands out. Today we take a look at the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16laptop dedicated to gamers with latest generation hardware and an attractive price, considering the cost of these machines today. The landscape of gaming laptops it was renewed at the beginning of the year with the arrival of the new 13th generation Intel Core processors, codenamed Raptor Lake, and the RTX 4000 Laptops.
